Sipas studimit të fundit të AWEN-Albanian Women Empowerment Network, 1 në 10 vajza detyrohen të angazhohen në marrëdhënie seksuale pa dëshirën e tyre. Sipas Institutit Shqiptar për Sigurinë e Fëmijëve çdo 5 ditë përdhunohet 1 fëmijë. Këto nuk janë thjesht statistika. Është jeta e fëmijëve tanë dhe nuk duhet të tregohemi indiferent. Rasti i përdhunimit të 15- vjeçares në Rrëshen, përdhunimi i 7-vjeçares në Kosovë, ngacmimet seksuale të përditshme deri në kufijtë e normalitetit duhet të zgjojnë jo vetëm reagimin qytetar por edhe atë institucional. Vajzat dhe gratë po ndihen gjithmonë e më pak të sigurta në ambjentet e tyre familjare, rrethin shoqëror, vendin e edukimit.
Prandaj, më 23 Maj, Shoqata “Gender, Paqe e Siguri” zgjodhi të marshojë kundër abuzimeve seksuale ndaj të miturve.

MARCH AGAINST SEXUAL VIOLENCE
According to the latest study by AWEN-Albanian Women Empowerment Network, 1 in 10 girls are forced to engage in sexual intercourse against their will. According to the Albanian Institute for Child Safety, every 5 days 1 child is raped. These are not just statistics. It is the life of our children and we should not be indifferent. The case of the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Rrëshen, the rape of a 7-year-old girl in Kosovo, the daily sexual harassment that seem to have become the norm should arouse not only the civic reaction but also the institutional one. Girls and women are feeling less and less safe in their family environment, social circle, and place of education.
Therefore, on May 23, the Gender, Peace and Security Association chose to march against sexual abuse of minors.
